Tim Miller is a Certified NRA Firearms Instructor and Certified Texas Department of Public Safety Concealed Handgun Instructor.

A 10-15 hour Concealed Handgun Class taught by a State Certified Instructor is required prior to submitting an application for a license to carry a concealed handgun in Texas.

ACTIVE MILITARY and their spouses receive a 50% Discount on the Class Fee.

If you are ACTIVE MILITARY the State does not charge a license fee.

The Certification Class is a 1 day class starting at 9 a.m. We start the day registering everyone in, then a brief discussion on range safety before heading out to the range for the Firearm Qualification. After the Qualification we spend a little time discussing defensive shooting scenarios and the difference between “target shooting” and “defensive shooting” briefly touching on shooting styles and the importance of practicing shooting fundamentals and dry fire practice. Tim will demonstrate some defensive shooting techniques and how to incorporate dry fire practice into your training.

After the range we return to the classroom for approximately 8 ˝ hours of classroom time. We end the class by helping you complete the CHL application including fingerprints, pictures and Notary stamping documents. You will leave with the application completely filled out and ready to send into the Department (DPS).

Students need to bring with them either a semi-auto pistol (minimum caliber .32) or revolver (minimum caliber .38), 50 rounds of ammunition, eye and ear protection and a baseball type hat, long pants are required on the range.

NO RELOADED AMMO ALLOWED ON THE RANGE. ALL FIREARMS AND AMMO WILL BE INSPECTED. WE WANT TO KNOW THAT ALL HANDGUNS OPERATE SAFELY!

We have handguns available for you to qualify with if you don't have your own. Just let us know in advance so we can have it ready for you. Also, handgun ammo can be purchased at our store, here again let us know in advance so we'll be sure and have it in stock for you.

BRING YOUR LUNCH! We teach while you eat so the class doesn't run into the night! A 10 minute break every hour is afforded so you can stretch your legs, bathroom break, etc. We will have coffee and cold water available all day.

Re-Certification Course for those with a CHL to renew is a 4 hour course (not including the time it takes for fingerprinting, photos, application and notary). We start out on the range and shoot the qualification, then finish up in the classroom.

Re-Certification Course is $75.

Bring your handgun, at least 50 rounds of ammo, eye and ear protection, hat and long pants required on the range.

Re-Certification classes start at 1pm

Special Group Classes: Get a group of 6 or more together and we'll give you your own private class on a day and time of your choosing!

For students with no prior handgun experience that would like to be taught Basic Handgun Skills, we also offer this class as well. Please contact us with any questions.
