It began when LMT’s Defender series of AR/M4/M16 rifles morphed into the user-interchangeable barrel system Monolithic Rail Platform. The MRP gave the owner true multi-barrel capabilities. Then LMT offered a choice of interchangeable calibers as well, with hot varmint cartridges like the .204 Ruger and the latest battlefield round the 6.8 SPC. Now the latest stage in rifle evolution is here: interchangeable operating systems. Embodied in the CQB MRP GAS PISTON, available in complete guns or as an upgr ade, the piston system lets the rifle run cleaner, cooler and more accurately than conventional Direct Impingement models.

Free-floating barrel inside a durable, one-piece upper receiver machined from a solid forging for maximum accuracy and strength.

Assembly and disassembly are very easy with this system to make access in the field very quick.

This system can be adapted to mission- specific needs by switching barrel length and caliber. Currently available in 5.56. However, future calibers are in the works.

LMT upper receivers (T) markings are laser engraved so that you can see and identify positively in the dark with night vision on.

Operators can go from a 12” barreled 5.56 CQB carbine to a 16” rifle in less than two minutes.

All LMT bolts and barrels are mag particle inspected and proof tested.

Efficiency of operation enables operator to use a much greater variation of ammunition.

Runs cooler than standard direct gas impingement systems.

Runs cleaner than the direct gas impingement systems.

All LMT barrels are machine gun grade barrels for greater life.

All LMT upper receivers are dry-film lubed.

Machined one-piece bolt carrier for ultimate in strength and reliability.

Closed system causes venting to occur at the barrel, reducing light and noise so you don’t give away your position when shooting at night.

It can also be shot suppressed. Short stroke system eliminates exces- sive pressure on the bolt.

Bolt carrier group utilizes a proprietary coating that is harder and more wear resistant. The piston gas plug also utilizes this technology and prevents carbon and copper from sticking.
